Major Lazer – Cold Water (feat. Justin Bieber & MØ)

Summer wouldn’t be summer unless we had music from the dominating dance trio of gods, Major Lazer. Last year they gave us ‘Lean On’ with popstar MØ, and this year they’re ready to strike again with MØ and a little extra with popstar, Justin Bieber.

The single is the first taste from their upcoming album “Music Is The Weapon” which is due out later this year, and hits digital retailers worldwide on July 22nd. Writers include Diplo himself, Justin Bieber and even Ed Sheeran.

It looks like Major Lazer may have just done it again. Of course last year, and right into the beginning of this year, ‘Lean On’s impact was huge.and we could be witnessing déja-vú. It definitely has that summer vibe that of course is fundamental this time of year, and this being a Major Lazer track, of course the bass is impeccable.

If I’m going to be completely honest, I don’t think Justin Bieber really does this song any justice. It would be just as good without him, and you wouldn’t even recognise MØ if she wasn’t credited as her part is extremely short lived.

Besides the pessimism, the song, as a final piece, is actually very catchy and very very good. I can’t see it being near as perfect as ‘Lean On,’ nor can I see it having the same longevity, however, this song delivers, and will definitely be an ally in helping people tear up the dancefloors in clubs across the world.
