So the new single from Fifth Harmony has dropped, and being their first single since Camila left, it’s on the rocks as to how the groups future looks without her. They’ve teamed up alongside American rap artist Gucci Mane, and it is the first single off their upcoming debut album as a quartet. The song was released on digital retailers on 2nd June.
Ooookay. So I must say, their first try as a quartet hasn’t gone ‘down’ well at all. It’s literally the basic, most safest song you could get from a girl group. Unfortunately it looks like they’ve attempted to re-create another ‘Work From Home’ but it literally just doesn’t come across that well whatsoever.
The song in itself is repetitive, the lyrics are box standard, the production was simple. The song in general was boring, and Gucci Mane sticks out like a saw thumb. He wasn’t needed in this track at all.
It’s a shame as the girls do have so much potential, even without Camila, to carry on still being the world’s biggest girl group, but right now they’re completely disproving that fact. Perhaps the lead single was a mishap and they recuperate themselves later on. Let’s hope so, but as for this single, it’s not going down well with me.
