P!NK – What About Us

BIIIIITCH. P!NK IS BACK. The queen herself is back to dominate the airwaves and the charts once again with her upcoming seventh studio album ‘Beautiful Trauma’ due out in October. The lead single is ‘What About Us’ and was released on the 10th August 2017.

A political statement that needs addressing ever so drastically. A tender club anthem that shows off the importance of what’s going on in the world today, and of course, those incredible vocals that we know P!NK effortlessly slays every record she makes.

It’s a step forward in terms of sound for P!NK as I dare say she doesn’t really release dance based songs, and even though it’s not in your face dance, it’s a subtle approach in that direction and it suits her extremely well. The song has an extremely important and vital message, and if those in power wasn’t so ignorant was to address this song and this meaning, and really listen to it’s moral, it would make a vital difference than what’s going on in the world right now. A lot of celebrities always get stick for using their platforms and their voices to talk about politics but it’s we all have opinions, and we all have platforms and voices, and we all need to use them, and it’s people like P!NK who are using their platforms and their voices to address the everyday problems that we are currently facing with, which could lead to a lot of problems.

The songs production fits well with that message, and even though the lyrics are slightly cliché on this particular subject, P!NK smashes through with those vocals and really asks you the question, “what about us?”

Welcome back P!NK, thank you for saving music this year.
